Light problem

Ok so when i got my blaster off some guy, they had it all messed up, including some banshee lights on it, that were screwed into the fenders on the sides, and just hanging there, they lit up, but very dim and all the time whether the lights were on or off, so i just cut the wires to the kill switch and lights, then they still stayed on all the time, and i wired up the bike to run on only the key, i couldn't figure it out at all, then i realized the voltage regulator wasn't hooked to the lights of to the chassis, so i didn't know what to do, i've been looking at wiring diagrams and just can't figure it out, if anyone can help me in educating me a little in how to wire up a light or two, i'd greatly appreciate it, thanks!

you are only alotted 55w from a stock stator, get a ricky stator, you can go up to 100w i think, but do what 305 has on his, 2 20w fog lights, 15 bux at wal mart.

I have the two wally world lights on mine. For being 5 watts less power than the stock headlight I can honestly say they are much brighter.

dude go to wally world man, they have the 20 a piece fog lights that obviously work well because there are a few people that have them

Wow, looks like i might do that, i'll have to look into either a new light switch, or just having them on 24/7 haha, bad idea to cut the wires off the kill switch, should've just disconnected them. Oh well, Thanks for the help guys

Well this is a pretty easy problem. If you have the diagram its easy. If not, just buy a light or use the ones you have and get a different bulb. Show us the light and we can offer help. The light switch, use the yellow or green wire off of it for the postive and the black one for the negative. If everything else is hooked up it should work. If they are wired into the wires feeding the switch they will stay on all the time. You should use like 20w bulbs also. IF you need a light switch I have one for $5 plus shipping. Then you would have the stock plug in.

I think i might experiment with a switch of some sorts. I've got a ton, i do some electrical stuff, and my dad owns a telecommuications business, so they've always got that sorta junk lyin around. haha, i'll let you guys know how it goes, hopefully will get them put on by wednesday

Did you guys find a whole set that's 20watts? Or did you guys just swap out the 55 watts for smaller power bulbs? I went and looked at checker wally world and autozone and only found 50 at the lowest, and i have the stock stator..........

If you buy the lights like mine from wally world then go to Lowe's they have the bulbs. They are called landscape bulbs, 20w a piece. I would take a bulb out of the wally world lights and take one into lowe's to compare to the other ones. They were like 5 bucks a piece.

Exactly what I did went to wal-mart and then lowes for bulbs. they are much brighter even with the stock stator. No need for a ricky stator unless you want spot lights.

Alright thanks for the help guys, i just finally got them put on, although it's 2 in the freakin morning, haha. Just finally got around to it today, i hope i wired it alright, my stock light switch went crazy after i broke my handlebars once, but i'm using the switch that came with the set, and i went and got the 20 watt halogens from lowes. fit right, i mounted them to the original holes for the mounting hardware on the stock light, that was still on my bike, haha. And i got it all wired, i went straight from the yellow/red wire, to the power on the switch, (which had a fuse in it so it doesn't fry), then from the switch it branches off into the two lights, and where i spliced that together i spliced the 12v regulator in right there, and then grounded out the switch and the lights. Hope it works right, i'll test it out in the morning when i head to the track, just a little late to start the motor. haha, will post pics
