Hello everyone. I just rebuilt my sons top end on blaster. Now all of the sudden the left side of case by shift broke right off. Has anyone seen this before. And why would this happen ?? Lastly. Does anyone have a left side case they would like to sell ? On a budget after spending all the money to rebuild the top end. Thanks.

Hello, new to forum and hope u guys can help. Son just got a blaster. We redid the whole top end and its running great. Well he came back from riding and now case on left side is cracked right around the shifter. What can cause that. No chain problems or anything. Does anyone have they would sell ??? Just spent a ton on top end. Really looking for a good deal. Please let me know. Thanks.

As to cause I'm not sure, but could have been weakened by previous damage, then over exuberant use of the shifter could have finnished it .
Might have ran into something? Sure it wasn't BOOGERED by previous owner and it re-broke?
If no one here has a case hit Egay.
Highly suggest getting a Clymers manual, or at least finding the download here on the site. You'll need a flywheel puller at the minimum, DIY crank puller.
Keep us informed.

Well thanks for taking the time to reply. We apprecite it. Ill look into the catalog you mentioned. These little things can get pricey. I'm sure I will have a ton of question for the experts here !! I have a very large collection of tools. So that should not be a problem. Thanks. If anyone does have a case in the mean time and can save me a couple bucks I would appreciate it. Thanks

FYI, you must use a Blaster/Banshee flywheel puller, VERY high chance of damaging flywheel with a 2-3 jaw puller. I used an old fashioned harmonic balancer puller to split my cases. The crank is a semi-press fit into the left case brg. Here's the idea:http://www.blasterforum.com/do-yourself-20/diy-crank-puller-43994/
Going to need to leakdown test the engine : http://www.blasterforum.com/do-yourself-20/build-use-leakdown-tester-10663/
I have a Harbor fri=eight cheappy tester, just can't use it if eng is in frame. ONLY use 6-7 psi for testing

This is good stuff everyone. I have built a couple of custom chops. Hopefully this is not gonna be to complicated. Seems like a lot of parts in there. Lol. Thank u all
