i took the clutch cover off to check the crank seal. it was okay, but just out of seat so i pressed it back in. performed the leak test again and now air is rushing past the counter balancer bearings. what does this mean?

now to the other problem. i installed the clutch basket back in and tightened the bolts down. now i don't have any clutch pull at all. what the heck do i need to do now?

posted this in my project thread, but knew i could get a better response here. 8-|

Oh NO! The case halves are leaking at the seam.

Were they lapped before they were put together? What sealer did you use?

The case halves have to be resplit and sealed.

i never took this thing apart. all i did was rebuild the topend and now i've run into this. sounds about like my luck though.

what do you mean by the dots? i put it in just as it came out. to be honest i seen a hairline crack behind the crank when i put the piston in. it was in both cases, but only about a half inch long so i didn't think it would hurt anything. may be what the problem is right there. regardless this is poop right here. i'm about to move out too and now this.

if i decide to leave it this way could i jet it rich enough to not have issues? i know that is the crap way, but money is tight now. i may just pull the whole engine and rebuild the bottom myself. i am quite capable of doing it with the help of the forum i think.

Get you some alumiweld and a mapp gas torch. See my post in the DIY section about case repair for some pointers about using the material.

You cannot rejet properly for an airleak. When you let off the throttle, the vacuum inside the crankcase goes WAY up which will pull more air in through the crack while the fuel gets cuts off leaning out the engine dangerously.

The best bet is to either pull it down and fix it yourself or get a set of cases.

You know what, I might have a hookup for you. PM sent.

Also with ur clutch u need line the point on the clutch lever that at the bottom of the case to the raise point on the case right under ur intake
