Kickstarter spring issue

So I put my block off kit on and put everything back together and kicked it over and it kicked over just fine. The next time I kicked it over the lever stayed down.

Took the cover back off and found the spring came out of the hole. When I put it back in it wouldn't seat in the hole properly. I bought a new kickstarter assembly on eBay pretty cheap but was wondering if this is a common problem with the spring. It is almost as if the spring is bent or not wound properly. I've tried putting it several times but it comes loose when you barley touch it.

I was just curious as to why this would happen also if anybody has run into this.

Forgot to mention that the shaft was installed correctly with the tab and the notch lined up

The part that goes down in the hole seems to stretch out and bend pretty easily. I had to put mine in and out a few times and finally put the end of it in a vice and bent it so it would stay. It's been fine since.

I actually tried bending it I got it to stay better and I out
My case in kicked it a few times and it ended up comming out again so I figured it was bent pretty good or something else was out of whack

Put a very little piece of paper in the hole that the spring goes into. Took me forever but i finally got it.

i had the same thing, bought a new spring and it was good after that.
