Hey i have this 2003 kawi mojave in good shape but it seems like when u start it it makes a ticking sound and its not nearly as powerful as my freinds stock mojave (mines all stock to). What can be wrong here?

valves need adjusted, timing chain stretched beyond service limits ?
i'd adjust the valves and replace the timing chain if needed

Yup and a bunch of other factors come into play like compression on top of the things awk said.
Biggest factor will be how they were maintained maybe his had an easier life than yours.Or its had a rebuild you can never know unless you open it up.
But start with the current state of tune yours is in and using that manual make sure youre within spec.
