yes you can put the new hood and headlight on...mine is and 02 and i upgraded to the 03+ style hood and headlight...it just takes a little work

Radiator Hose works good too! Just make sure its long enough. I tink 5in.- 6in. is a a good length. Also make sure you have hose clamps like the stock setup is.....you dont want any excess dirt, air, or water.....been there, done that
so either way buy two jets that are larger than my stock?

is there any way to simplify the throttle cable? like a regular bike...

Dmc's are good pipes! I have heard they have a bit narrow of a powerband but make good power for a stockish bike. sheare's are great trail pipes! many people run them and love them.
I also run a pod and love it btw! I bumped up my main to a 300 with my fmf fatty and boyesen super stock reeds.
