Just looking for a real answer about engine boring.

i was told that my 200 head can only be bored 60 over max. Is this true?

i belive yu can go to .080 over or .090

your all wrong. it's the cylinder that gets bored. the head does not need to be changed, unless it is a performance modification or you are doing a 240.

ohh , maybe he means the cylinder?
but the head i wouldnt shave more then .030 off

i thought he was talking the cylinder? my head is shaved .035, the max you can go without having to run race gas

i was told that .090 was maxx for a stock cyli.

Yeah i dunno who makes a 9 over piston, haha. i know pro-x makes a .08 over piston, but i would just get a new cylinder at that point. haha

even if you had a piston it would be a time bomb with a paper thin sleeve very prone to heat and thermal expansion

you can find jugs on ebay that are in better condition than having to bore it over to its max, you are on your last leg and reliability is out the window if you are on your last bore, me i am good, still on stock! lucky me!
