Jetting?

inside your carberator there are a couple of jets that control how much fuel goes into the engine
basically they are a small hex screw with a specified hole through the center that fuel passes through
dependinng on what mods you get you will need to be properly jetted as to run properly

things like removing the airbox lid feeds more air into your engine requiring more fuel to have the engine run properly. there must be a proper fuel to air mixture and if you have to much air and not enough fuel, thats called lean and you can do engine damage and you have performance loss. if you have too big of a jet(high number=bigger hole=more fuel flow) and not enough air, your quad will bog down and not run the best.

jetting properly is very precise and you have to have it properly tuned to run the best.

theres a main jet and a pilot jet. your main is the jet that is most often switched and adjusted when adding parts or changing something. pilot, not as much but still, if running not so good from idle-1/4 throttle, thats your pilot being off. theres also your needle that is attached to the carb slide that controls flow as well. theres 5 slots on the needle to move the clip to make it leaner/richer.

heres a post with plenty of info on jetting.
