is it a stock carb mikuni, keihin, need to know because the jets are diff, like n my keihin i am running a 152 and to mikuni that would be about a 310, check them, then let us know, it is running rich from the sounds of it. do a plug chop they are a pain but you will def know where you stand

run your bike as hard as you can for 2 blocks or so, then pull the plug. the tip should be mocha or so, rich, it will be black and wet, lean whitish, but i know from the sounds it is running rich, or you could have had the same problem i did, piece of the choke assembly was missing, choke wasn't shutting off. lol

thanks i will try that .If i was to go to a different carb, what carb should i use,and that are they worth $$
thanks jeff

well it depends if you plan on boring, putting a 240 kit in it, what upgrades do you want to do? , i have a 34 because i plan on portin and polish soon, i could have settled with a 30, if you don't plan on doing much anytime soon, go with a 30 it will be plenty. and yes they are worth the money, oh and get rid of the big metal thing on top of ur carb(if its stock) the tors unit, there is a diy post.
