Hi I just bought a 2002 yamaha blaster and want to put an exhaust system on it. I was told I need to buy a jet kit also. Is this true and what do I do? thanks

u need to jet it, but dont buy a kit, go to your dealer and get a 300, a 310, and a 320 jet, will cost less than $10 for those 3, put those in the carb and test which ones work the best

all you do is pull off the carb unscrew the bowl(the bottom) it has 4 screws holding it on, and u will see inside the carb a brass bolt with a hole in the middle, it should say 230 on it, that is the main jet, that is all you need to replace.and dont tighten down hard, just a little tighter than finger tight, it is aluminum and strips out easy

um. if your gonna put somehting as big as a 300 in there you need to get at least a good air filter and remove the airbox lid. if ur just getting a pipe u'll probably only need 250 or 260 depending on the kind of pipe.

yea you are gonna need to rejet it dont buy a kit just buy seperate ones
the stock is 230 so you gonna need about 260 or around tat keep an eye on the plug and change if needed change again if you get more mods.

Im buying a FMF Power Core 2 Silencer with a FMF Fatty Exhaust Chrome Gold Series pipe. Will these match up. What Jet will I need for this exhaust?

they should match up, i wouldn't see why not. jetting is going to depend. if all the mods your going to have is the pipe/silencer, your probably going to only need a 250 or 260. but i would suggest getting a good filter and takin off the airbox lid, unless you ride a lot in mud. if you do take the airbox lid off try a 310 or 300. go to the diy section of the forum and look at the jetting explained i think its stickied there.

I just bid on a NEW K&N Filter with Outerwears slip-on, Will I need anything else for the Rejetting. And how are these filters?

Dumb question but is the air box under the seat? also will this have trouble if I ride in mud and rain?

what kind of k&n filter did you get? did you get one that just replaces the one in the airbox or did you get the cone one that you have to remove your airbox and clamp to the back of the carb?

ya its under the seat..its the black cover thing that has 4 screws holding it in..and with the mud you will have a little bit of a hard time keeping it clean but thats bout it..rain is no big deal...
plus if you take off the lid you will get more air inta the carb..
