JDRF Diabetes Fundraiser

i have type 1 diabetes and i was diagnosed with it when i was 13. i am now 22. it isnt as bad as alot of people think, but it does suck having it. it prevents you from doing alot of jobs. i cant join the military, i cant get a cdl, and a few others. i cant donate any money, but just remember, diabetes is a disability. not a disease

Do you have a pump or are you on injections?

just injections. i wont do a pump cause i like to be too active. doctors have suggested it, but i would rather take shots cause i would forget the pump is there. but i take like 5 or 6 shots a day

Ah I see.... I think there are a few pro athletes that have diabetes and are on a pump. Even a pro football player I believe. I don't know how a pump would survive that lol. I know my friends pump has taken some abuse, hitting off walls and such but it's still going.

yeah but i just dont like the idea of being constantly hooked up to a tube in my stomach. ive taken shots there and would rather nor have a tube there all the time

i avoid mud holes. well actaully if i could find any in southern az more than like 3 or 4 times a year than i would probably ride in them. but when the river near me gets like 5 inches of rain it will flow a little bit so i go splash through it
