Hi , I recently got a 96 blaster on a trade, it had no spark and would not shift through the gears. So I replaced the stator and now I have spark. but the problem is with the shifting or clutch, I decided to split the cases and found several parts were missing, like the star gear, little springs and so fourth, so using a clymer manual and bikebandits layouts I bought all the neccessary parts, I even bought a good but used transmission set off of ebay and put that in instead of mine, I installed everything according to the manual. It will shift now, The problem is now that the blaster will start up and shift but not move, it will not even atempt to move. The compression is low I know around 90 psi but could that cause it not to move the atv or could the clutch be bad. (The clutch I recently discovered is missing the cushion ring)could this be the cause? I have double checked my work so I know it's nothing internal. Please help I'm trying to get this up and running pretty quick , Thanks for your help

if you're missing the cushion ring, then i'd say thats your problem. its not allowing the plates to be pushed together tight enough to make the quad move

When I put it in gear and push it it rolls not as freeley as neutral but it does roll regardless if the clutch is engaged or not, there is tension when you pull the clutch just nothing happens, and when I reassembled the engine I did put back the rod and the ball bearing. With the cover off when you pull the clutch lever you can see the pressure plate moving in and out, maybe that cushion ring really is all of the problem ,I'll see if I can't order that from yamaha, anymore input?
