Is it time to laugh or cry?

it is time to cry, especially when 98% of chains jumping are preventable with maintainence/replacement when needed............

Yup was completely my fault I knew the chain was loose still took it out now look just shows u shouldn't take shortcuts

What case bond should I buy? I've got a flywheel puller and a torque wrench is that all the specialist tools ill need?

Right guys need some help can I split the left side case without taking the the clutch cover off ? I've got the bolts right round the left side of including the stator and flywheel should it just pull off now?

yes, you can remove just that side, but you'll need a pulley/gear puller and long bolts that screw into 2 threaded holes under the stator, then it will push on the end of the crank and pull the case off.

a hammer is not on the list of tools needed for this.

puller looks like this........

also...if that side crank bearing stays on the crank...it should be replaced, getting it off the crank and back into the case as it should be for reassembly, is likely to damage it

Right so got my crank puller made up (ill email u a pic joe you will get a laugh from it!) bearing stayed in the case

Only question is how do I get the bearing out of my casing easily ?

heat the case area around the bearing, not the bearing, with a propane torch, the bearing should drop right out
then freeze the bearing and heat the new case, it should drop right in.

but, you'll need a crank puller to pull the crank back thru the bearing in the new case
or.....

the KOR method:

i think it's in part 2, but watch from the beginning
