Is it normal for a blaster to sound like this ?

Just becasue its running good NOW doesnt mean its going to run good for a long time.

worn beyond it's spec limit.
new next size up piston and bore/hone to match and you'll be back up and running.

It's actually a little misconceiving. A 66mm piston really isn't 66mm exactly they all very a tad and without going into a bunch of detail you would be best getting it bored to a 66.25 or 66.5. <<< the size will depend on how out of round, the bore taper, and if there are any gouges/scratches etc... The shop performing the bore/hone/ and port chamfer will need the piston in hand in order to correctly bore the cylinder. Again, this is because the actual piston size varies from one to another ,and because forged and cast pistons require different clearances. Most of the time it's easiest to just send the cyl to the preferred shop and tell them to go up to the next available size and buy the piston from them also.

I dont understand why people come on here, ask for advice then completely ignore all the advice that was given to them. like "what do these smucks know about blaster motors. They dont know what they are talking about becuase they gave their advice over some forum. PFFFT. Just going to do what I want anyways and waste everyones time haha THAT'll TEACH EM!"

It's my quad I can do what I want with it if your on the blaster forums your probably not doing anything anyways the piston in it was .8 below spec I bought a 66.00 piston solved the problem maybe someone else will have this issue also . Just because someone try's helping out doesn't mean it's good information or maybe it is and I chose a different route and my choice worked out . Nothing runs forever the cyclinder was completely fine so it should be running good for a while . Also if someone comes onto this forum and sees this post maybe they will pick up on what someone else has said and chose that route . Doesn't mean it's useless information

Sorry but no point in wasting everyone's time in the first place. You could've done it your way in the first place in that's what u wanted. Which isn't really the right way Bc it should've of been bored and honed to specs of the piston. So I guess we will see you next month when you do ur top and bottom rebuild Bc the piston dropped its skirt. But that's ok Bc we all learn from our mistakes.

Ease up guys, no sense flaming him. What's done is done.

Absolutely nothing wasted here. Over 200 views, somebody learned something. Hopefully not to buy Niche / eBay cyl. And that if you spend money on a piston and gaskets, cost of boring doesn't add that much more to overall cost of the project.

Saw no mention of what the wear on cylinder was so the best ANYONE can do is GUESS about outcome. One thing I can guarantee is that no matter how sloppy it gets that Wiseco won't blow into a million pieces, taking engine cases out of the Blaster world.

I say run with it. Sure boring and honing it is the proper way, but that wiseco likes a "larger clearance"
Perhaps post a video of it so we can hear it?
Be sure to warm it up before riding.
Warming it up means getting the cylinder hot enough to where you can't hold your hand on it very long.
