Hey guys its been awhile since iv been on here, or even rode because my blasty has been sitting waiting on my cylinder and time to work on it....:( Well I finally got a full day of beautiful weather and a good case of the want 2s and decided to go for it...I:I I just have a couple of questions though... I have read all the stickies on the subject of proper break in procedures, Install, etc. but here is my dilemma... I just finished-up doing my first heat cycle (I let it idle for 15min. in neutral with a fan blowing on the engine)...came back in and was looking thru more threads and post while she was cooling down, and I read that Your not supposed to break in a new top end with Amsoil because the s**t protects so good that it will not properly seat the rings??? So my question is DID I ALREADY SCREW UP???? or can i drain the gas and just start over since I have only done the first heat treat cycle on it???? Also what should I break it in with ??? (If I didnt ruin it already?) With just some ol crapy walmart chain saw mix or what??? Thanks in advance for your help, I just want to make sure that I do everything RIGHT to get the most life out of that weisco....;)

I don't think the oil you used is going to stop the rings from seating. I've never heard that one. If it is true, you didn't screw anything up. You would still be able to seat your rings. Just make sure your jetting is right, recheck the nuts and do a leak down test.

Thanks for the quick reply...Yea, I just read it in the engine/amsoil comparison sticky posted by YSF101.....Jetting should be good its 260 or 270 If I remember right... Also its got....FMF Fatty exhaust, cylinders bored 40 over, v-force reeds(with stock cage & no spacer), k&n filter, no lid, and stock carbie...

Yeah the mix that you use will make no difference just as long as it is high quality mix. Also when you get done with your break in make sure to do a plug chop to make sure you are not too lean :( or too rich:( or else you wont be experiencing the full potential of your blasty.

if amsoil on a break in is a no no i just made that no no today.i only run amsoil in everything even my lawn mower. In fact when i drain it from my cars at 3k its still so clean save it and run it in my mowers its good stuff!

I just broke my 240 in today and ran two tanks of shell 93 with amsoil intercepter at 32.1.
i followed kens instructions to the letter (sorry for so many calls ken but i appreciate your time) with the exception of oil preference and although im pig rich for break in its running like a champ!Ive still not hit full throttle but at 1/2 throttle 1-4 itll pick the tires up.

Id say your good bro i would keep running amsoil.

:DThanks guys, That's what I thought!!! But better safe than sorry I always say...I ran "RED LINE" fully synthetic all last year (never heard it mentioned in any threads around here??) until it hit $60.00 a gallon (crazy), not to mention I was very disappointed after pulling the head & cylinder and seeing all that carbon build up on top the piston, yuck....Iv heard nothing but good about Amsoil, so Im switching...Got a killer deal on a gallon off e-bay (dominator) And my blasty got her first taste earlier and I think she likes it!!!! Good to here im in the clear....Cant hardly wait to finish with all these heat & cool down cycles so I can rip it up again... Yea i know, patience-patience-patience.....Thanks again guys.....

Your all good. Just make sure you are using the same mixture for break-in that you will use for regular riding.

if you dont mind what did you pay off ebay for it and do you have a link its 15 and some change a quart here.

Don't mind at all telling ya, I paid $37.00 + $6.00 shipping for a gallon....but I do not have a link because It was just an individual that I got it from and not a store...But just add it (Amsoil) to your want/looking for list on e-bay, and when some is listed they will send you a message via e-bay message or e-mail that it was just listed on e-bay, so you don't have to do a search for it and hope you run across some!! they will tell you when some becomes available...Hope that helps....( save me some!!) We only have one shop in town ( Suzuki.) to buy everything atv-bike related, so they've got the monopoly around here and they know it!!! and they are crazy high with there pricing. So I get everything online and self taught myself fixing, repairing and rebuilding, because at $80.00 dollars an hr labor(1 hr min.)those guys are just flat trippin man!!!!!!!
