Intake Mainfold Leak

So, I tried to perform a leak down test but the bottom side of the mainfold was leaking so bad it wouldn't build pressure. I just bought a new gasket and everything. Its real bad between the reed cage and motor. I cleaned it very well and everything. Should I just put a small bead of RTV Copper scilicone on the gasket and cage? Any thoughts?

You can do that yes

Torque to 5.4 ft-lbs diagonally and incrimently as to prevent warping

And yes on the RTV sealant. I prefer yamabond, but RTV is fine.

Mine leaked there too and would not seal for leak test...RTV light coat better than gasket sealer too.

RTV light coat? Is that another type? Or am I reading your reply wrong.

Also should I get a new manifold and try that berfore I put sealant all over my new gasket?

He meant a light coat of RTV. Its not a different type

put some on it, wait a day to re-leak test
