spent the last 2 weeks turning stock 2004 blaster into full race blaster. Before I started the work quad ran fine no problem fired up on 1 quick. Work done on the blaster was;

New Arms +3+1
Elka Shocks all round
New Rims & tires
Oil injection block off
New braided oil lines
replacement of the nose plastics for Maier

The only electrical connections that were touched were removal of the headlight and the master key.

I went to fire it up yesterday and no luck, attached the master key with the same result. I sprayed starter fluid into the air cleaner and it fired up on 1 kick and then bogged and died.

I speculate that this is an electrical issue, in that starter fluid has such a low cumbustion temperature that the compression alone is causing the engine to fire.

When I look at the front loom wires I have the green and yellow wires from the headlight taped up, I have the black and black and white wires for the master key and then I have have 1 additional black wire that I cant remember where it came from..........

Any ideas?

did you remove the parking brake cable? I had an issue with mine, I removed the parking brake cable and forgot to unplug the wires that run up to the left side of the handle bars.

Totally a fuel issue think about it. The starting fluid was your fuel until it burned off. Don't touch the electrical system the fuel system is what you should be focusing on.
