well if anyone's been following the build, here's my blaster horror story....bought it in boxes and here's what i found

a arm bushings=shot
crankshaft=missing
2 clutch baskets=both grooved to hell
swingarm bearings=trash
carrier bearings=garbage
sprockets=guess what...JUNK
stock carb=the threads at the top aren't good enough to get a cap tight on it....don't figure this out till i spend 40 bucks on a float and a rebuild
crank bearings=shot
reeds=JUNK
all the cables that came with it.....garbage
chain adjusters.....you guessed it FUBAR

now go to assembly.....
-pull out every head stud when i torque them...not at the same time mind you....it took me 6 times at it to find out they're all junk and fixed them one at a time
-get the motor in the chassis and go to put the pipe on...the bolt holes for the pipe are completely stripped, one has already been helicoiled and it failed to...
-pull motor from chassis fix it, put it back in....
-1st heat cycle, find out that kill switch doesn't work....strip wiring harness and eliminate several things and fix some sh*t.
-2nd heat cycle, starts, the idle takes off to the moon. this is when i found my carb cap problem
-get a 36mm carb by mistake, go ahead and throw it on anyway to try it out. everything seems good with the blasty now...its all down hill from here right......................

now finally i get to ride it right? nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
-starts 2nd kick, no choke, AWESOME
-pull in the clutch, pop it into gear, thing jumps and dies.....great
-find out that somethings not right, the clutch boss won't turn inside the clutch basket
-fix problem, go out and get the top end broken in

-go out to ride a bit....strange 1st gear is gone.....pretty soon only gear i have is 3rd

i've actually ridden this thing for about 10-15 minutes (not including putting around for break in) and spent 5 months spending stupid amounts of money and working ridiculous hours on it. now i get to split the cases and figure out what shelled in the trans!I:I

sounds like a good experiance with a blaster.........my freind had a simular problem with his mine was flawless for 1 year until I sold it, it sucks that u did all that work and it still not right

i do feel slightly better....doesn't change that i still gotta pull the motor and split the cases though. and yeah, at this point i've got so much time/money involved that i can't quit. its like a competition now and i'm not gonna let this damn machine win haha.

you should fix that thing mojaves are fun quads
Oh I have plans for it....

well i'm just gonna do some little stuff over the next couple weeks i think. rebuild the shocks, split the cases and see what's up in there. i'll probably clean up the cases a bit too, they look a little nasty, and repaint something that i did in a little too much of a hurry

Sounds similar to my story. Bought a beat to sh*t blasty, started rebuilding it this past winter and seems everything I replaced, something else was bad or broken in that process. Sucks, but at least we know what's in our quads. Good luck!!

yeah.....i think i've replacled everything that can wear out so far...spent so much money on it so far fixing sh*t wrong with it that i could've had a ported big bore and a stroker by now....lol

well at least with all this new work ur doing u will have almost all new blasty by the time ur done lol....way to stay cool bro lol....i wouldve flipped my lid by now lol

yeah.....plan has changed slightly i put it in the naughty shed where we put all the sh*t that won't start/run correctly lol. gonna wait to pull it apart, it'll be a lot better to pull it apart in a week or two when i've cooled off a little bit. this thing has been nothing but 5 months of broken sh*t, sh*t thats just not right, and missing pieces. the few minutes that i got to ride it before the trans sh*t out on me was great, the power is better than i expected. i'm not ready to give up on the blasty yet.....but sh*t even my mom said i should've taken out a loan to by that new raptor 700 i wanted in the first place lol

and to add insult to injury getting it back to the house trying to get it going from a dead stop in 3rd smoked the clutch. so i'll be getting a clutch for it soon too
