i need this identifide

it does but only engages half the time, but i pulled the crankcase off when the spring popped out of the little hole and i found two little pieces of metal that looked like spring that were ran though gears and i couldn`t figure out what it was untill i found this picture and thats what it was but i couldn`t figure out what it was it did, but the kickstart comes back up

ok the kickstart works like this.
when you kick it down. that metal tab will hit the case. the cause the kickstarter gear to stop free turning and go outward to make contact with the clutch gear. once the engine starts, the clutch gears the other way allowing the kickerstarter gear to return back to the original position. the spring is what keeps the gear from coming outward when not wanted.

so that piece that is missing engages the ratchet gear while the spring returns the kicker, can i replace that piece or would it be cheaper to get an ebay special on the whole assembly, what is that piece called excactly.

i think it is part of the spring, but i will check tonight, i have a complete kicker setup, just a little rusted.

its just a little clip that goes on the back side of the gear, Mine broke out as well, and its a pain cause it doesn't catch all the time, but for me its not really worth replacing atm.
