i need help getting the stock one off i have taken off the disk break, tires, hubs, chain, and am left with the two tight a** lock nuts. what should i do from here? ive tried everything to get my lock nuts off. im putting a g force axle on and i need some pointers of what you guys did when taking your axle off. PLEASE HELP

pipe wrench it worked with mine, but do not hammer it that just screws it up use ur hands and fist

use a pipe wrench to hold the axle, then a big set of channel locks to loosen the outer nut first. the person before you may have put locktight on it and/or some trick that i dont know about to put it on.

by the way does anyone have any good tricks to keep them tight

you can use two 2" open end wrenches and straddle the axle pressing down in both directions, this is how i got mine apart or you can buy the specialty tool for i think like $30 bucks but id rather invest in wrenches...pipe wrenches im sure would do the trick too...i just had access to the 2" open ends and it gives a bit more to bite on too.

yeah im soaking it in liquid wrench right now and im gunna give it another go with the pipe wrench tommorow cuz i really wana get my new g force axle on!

who was the guy talking about only using the proper tool for the job the other day?=))=))=))=))
lol... j/k man.......=))=))

if your using a pipe wrench, put a long pipe on the end of it for more leverage for every foot of pipe you gain 100 foot pounds of pressure. it should come off with ease!

I just replaced my axle bearings what a pain in the a$$. I used 2 14" pipe wrenches and i had to heat up the nuts with a small torch to release the red lock tite that the shop manual calls for. good luck

yeah...i knew someone would give me some sh*t about that but actually the 2" open ends are the right tools, just nobodys gonna go out a buy 2 of them at $50/ea to break axle nuts free, i just had access to them as i work for a heavy equipment construction company.

You definitly got the right tool for the job, lol. I think I would of maybe got two big cresent's though, more versitile, of course I don't work on big equipment.

I had a TRX400 hundred once that I tried everything to get the lock nuts off. I finally got the dremal out and cut them off. the new rearend I bought came with new nuts.
