HOW TO TEST A CDI?

I tested everything on the ignition system as per the service manual. Can you test a CDI? if so how do you do it? Please Help.

Swap it with one you know works.
I believe you need some special equipment to check one.

Well that's the deal

Manual runs through the yesy procedure you just followed. Eliminate ALL other poss. and if found to be good, replace the CDI. Make sure you test EVERYTHING else. It can be a CDI, but usually isn't.

It was the CDI. They do go bad sometimes.
