How to determine if a Blaster is a Maine model.

That's a good one but I've heard people that they have a Maine or New Hampshire model and I was not sure if there is a difference between a basic model (i guess is what it would be) and the Maine/New Hampshire model. Is there a difference in parts or options that could be ordered?

It smells like Lobster.

LOL I:I

i've heard some of the maine (among a handful of other states) models had brake lights on the cable brake models ?
will have a brake light switch attached by a spring to the brake pedal

So a brake light that is controlled by the foot brake only or controlled by the hand and foot brake?

i've gotten cable brake pedals in that have a strange to me bracket off the inside, for connection of a brake light switch.
no clue if they were brake lever operated also ?

does yours have either ?

I do not have any rear brakes at the time and the foot brake assembly is completely off but I have all the pieces to place it back on I'm just holding off till I get the rear brake assembly.

look for a flange/bracket for the brake light switch inside the frame right above the swingarm pivot bolt on the brake pedal side

i like a tail light, especially for night riding, and have added small LED brake lights in my airbox, currently connected to the yfz master i run for my front hydro's,
i have a micro pressure switch/banjo bolt to add to my rear hydro's, so either will light it, but haven't added it yet.

from my experience, it's difficult to add a brake light to the cable brakes, but sure you could find a stock taillight on here or ebay

There are 2 wires (1 blue & 1 black)so could those be for just a running light?

yep, blue and black for the tail light....

Go to your local DMV and ask them to run the VIN number. When the quads were first bought, they got registered, so there should be history on where it was first registered.

I have family from northern Maine, I can see the reason for brake lights with the amount of trails I have ridden on up there. As far as I can remember, they require a license plate as well. I remember seeing them on the quads my family have up there.
