Pa The Tyranny & Oppression State
Wife sent me over the hill to look at a 03 Blaster, took a quad ride over the mountain, bike don't run, FMF pipe & silencer, typical cracked plastic, oil injection been bypassed (who knows how that was done) turns over fine, compression feels low, been bored 60, tail light missing, dented front bumper, seat torn / splits, sprockets are borderline, axle berrings seem fine, tires crap on steel wheels - guy said it was burned up & needed a piston / rings.

Its a crapshoot - what would you offer on it? my two teenage boys 16 & 17 need every bit of experience in the shop they can get and the wife feels they learn alot so its a project scenario.

What should I offer on this PIG oh I meant project :-[ you gents would have a better idea on what its worth for a fixer & the disc brakes looked like a nice improvement.

Thanks, opinions greatly appreciated I:I

This is my daughters 96, the 2003 I looked at was not this clean.

I was thinking $200 - $300 range myself - last blaster I bought I was told the tranny was gone & it turned out to be the clutch was smoked.

This one don't have the feel / sound of a melted piston, but never can tell till the head is off.

Guess I will pop over the hill with some cash in my pocket and kick tires.

i would offer 200-300, sounds like it'll need a little bit of everything, but taking a quad all the way apart and putting it back together, while actually paying attention to how it all works would be a great experience for the boys
