Hot start lever?

Ok I am looking at a sweet clutch lever at a buds house and he said i could have it......i was like sweet. hey whats this lever on here? he said it was a hot start lever. ok guys at the risk of sounding dumb (mainly since i ride mx) What is hot start?

It is a compresion release,,, on a big compression bike such as these big 4 strokes and some older big 2 strokes, It is an ankle saver so that yur kicker dosnt bounce back up and brake yur leg, I watched a kid break some bone in his foot on a 250r,,, any way this dose not apply to your blaster, you can still use the lever just fine of course, just dont mind the lever it is not for your quad.
