hey everyone, i own a polaris trail blazer 325.

been trying to sell it so i can get something more sporty like a yamaha blaster.

someone told me to join this site to see what i can learn about a yamaha blaster so i can see if a yamaha blaster is the sporty quad i want.

thanks everyone

A Blaster is a very fun quad. There easy to work on and can be made really fast. You will get great support on this forum. You won't wait a week for a half assed answer .

Not that this is necessarily a known problem as in defect but more like owner lack of issues,

1. I'd try to get an 03+ as it already has disk brake set-up!
2. I'd also check compression of a blaster before I buy it-120+ is good anything lower is gonna need some attention.
3. I'd pull the seat off and look at the air filter, clean? would lead me to believe that the prevoius owner may have taken care of it
4. Ask alot of questions, any thing wrong with it?, last oil change?, is gas fresh?, why are you selling it?
5. Lastly If all seems to be good i'd take it for a spin! Shift all six gears, try the brakes, lights- then make an offer!

As soon as I got it home, I'd do this to it-
http://www.blasterforum.com/do-yourself-20/03-06-tors-removal-diy-41973/

Then I would- do this- http://www.blasterforum.com/do-yourself-20/how-install-oil-injection-block-off-kit-681/

Now your ready to premix your gas and will never have to worry about the oil line to the carb coming off or the plastic gear failing and no oil going into your motor!

I will add make sure you buy 2-stroke oil that is for pre-mixing not injection, most pre-mix 32:1!

a convert? what is that?

just a term refering to you "converting" from another quad, to a blaster

here's my take on the blaster..........
i bought a brand new 1996, rode it hard for 8 trouble free years, never a major problem,
had to sale it due to a crash/injury/couldnt work blah, blah, blah.

5 years later decided to get back into atv's.
could have bought anything i wanted,
looked at some 400ex's <(typed with head down in shame,LOL)

chose to buy another blaster,
currently own 2, and have my buddy hooked on them too, he just bought his second one.

quick, light & nimble, easily modified, easy to work on, tons of new/used parts available, reliable with routine maintenece, and most bang for the buck IMO !

Awk pretty much hit it with what they are. They are compact, light, nimble, sharp, and FUN they do not have the big bike "im bigger than you" attitude but rather an attitude of "im not the greatest bike but i do my best" they are pleasing and the power is more than ample to start off with. Great in the tight stuff, easy to move when you get stuck, and best of all, they are 2 stroke, meaning they are pleasing to the purist biker to ride.

Easily modded too, with little effort you can double its horsepower. not many bikes let you do that!

front shocks are not great so if you can find one with a aftermarket set you are sorted!

can you tell me what the bike is then. just trying to see if it will work for me. i am still trying to find a keep 03+ blaster, but they are asking like 1400+ on craigslist.

$1200-$1500 seems to be the going price for an 03+ around here too
go look at a $1400 and try to talk them down a few hundred

there is this one, guy is asking $1800 for it.
this is a 2004 yamaha blaster with a 240cc big bore stroker motor in it. ,has two new tires in the rear, the whole motor is completly rebuilt has all new parts in it,has carbon fiber reeds in it,a new racing clutch and a custom seat .this bike is realy fast and fun to ride .im asking $1800 for it so the first with $1800 gets it.

just asked this guy, he said he will take 2000 for it, going to see if i can borrow some money from my girlfriend to buy it.

I am selling my 1987 suzuki lt500r quadzilla. It's a good running quad but its a little too much for me. It's got BRAND NEW maier plastics and good tread on the tires. It has a full fmf exhaust. The only thing wrong with it is it needs new water pump seals. theyre pretty cheap, It leaks antifreeze and will need to be replaced before anything more than a test ride. This would be a great candidate for a restoration.
