i have a set of worn out tires and i was goin to screw drywall screws out through and cut an old tube to cover up the screw heads and the put a good tube in and use it this winter. do you think it will work?
i think if you take the tube idea you were thinkin about it would prolly work the best
make sure that you screw through the inner tube and out through the tire
then stick another tube in there to get it to hold air
having a hex head contact ice is better than having the small tip of a screw touch ice. Also, if you have them poking out, don't have them poke out too much or else when they catch traction they may rip themselves right out of the tire with a huge gouge!!
The tubes should do the trick as long as the heads don't rip through it.
If I were you I'd screw hex heads into what's left of any knobbies and load that tire up with a ton of slime!!
the slim kinda sucks it doesnt dry, its like that fix a flat sh*t you have to spin the tire in order for it to work so it goes to the outside of the tire
yea i dont think i am goin to waste money on slime, lol, im just goin to stud them from the inside out and i will post pictures of the before and after studding, and get back to you and tell you how it worked out
the theory of dry wall screws works, you just need a ton of them tightly together so they kinda support each other. Lots of guys use them up here for drags on the ice. They can really hook up, but are not practical for river riding because they are not as durable.
