HELP vitos 240

Hey guys, I just installed a vitos 240 kit. I fired it up to make sure it runs, and I can hear a slight tick. Am I just being paranoid or is something rong? I have a fmf fatty pipe and power core 2. Stock reeds and Vito jets in carb. I did the Vito kit cuz my oil pump craped out and I smoked piston and head. Any help would be great thanks

did you leak test the motor after the install of everything? get those vito jets out of the carb and use genuine mikuni jets, much easier to work with, is everything installed correctly?

Yes leak test was done. Should the Vito jets be good for brake in? It was leaking at reeds. Butt I fixed

i have no idea about vitos jets or how they compare to genuine mikuni so i couldint tell ya, blaster engines are pretty noisy so you could just be paranoid

Ok. I think I'm just nervous cuz of what happend. I did oil block off kit. And ticking is faint. I never did new crank barrings. Butt fly wheel had no play

i would change out those jets to regular mikuni ones, what are all your mods and what main jet are you running?

I have Vito's jet kit in the Blaster, including pilot and needle, have absolutely no problems with them. Son got them when he bought the pipe.

are they the same numbers/ sizes as mikuni's ?

So why should he change out the Vitos for Mikuni like you said if you dont know the difference between them?:-/

just easier to deal with, unless there exactly the same and same numbers but i doubt that

dont wanna sound like a duche but you'll know fairly soon if you did something wrong but I seriosly doubt it just idle it for like 20 min just blipping the throttle like half way till its warmed up like 3 or 4 times and take it really easy till the second tank. But Im shure you know this come on guys he's a pro wish ya the best man

A little research on Vito's site reveals that only jets listed are Mikunis. I have no idea if the needle I used is or is custom for the Fat Bastard pipe, all I know is it works well I:I

How do you know that the oil pump
"Crapped out"? How did you come to this conclusion? What part
"crapped out"? I really doubt you had the oil pump fail on you. I'll bet it was something else,and the oil pump took the blame. Got pictures?

I'll bet that your jetting was incorrect when it fried,and that you also didn't leak test anything....

Four things come to mind.

1. Lack of oil in the oil tank.

2. Failure to bleed the system after a flip or a hose removal.

3. Incorrect jetting.

4. Air leak.

Is that slight tick detonation?
