quad idles fine when i go to ride it studders or the throttle is fluttering starts i mid range and cant reach power ban tommey pipe 310 main kn filter vrofce 1 mil over i feel like i need to jet up higher it got cold



i feel like i need to jet up also what are stock mixture settings
 
have you.......
tried a new plug ?
cleaned the carb and filter ?
checked the reeds for cracks/chips/broken petal ?
good fuel/oil mix ?
leakdown tested it ?
compression tested it ?

check/set the floats.......

adjust your airscrew to acheive highest idle.......

raise your needle, by lowering the clip, until it "rich bogs" then back down until it pulls hard

then plug chop for the new temps.........

brand new plug
cleaned carb and filter all tests done i think i need to rejet
already running 310 idles fine and low end perfect but no high or mid
 
i'd buy the next 3 sizes up, start large working down, doing plug chops along the way
 
seems like the plug i am putting in is getting black quick if i had to judge 320,330,340
where can i find them for a good price and what about the mixture screw
 
only time i ever rejetted was couple years ago within past 2 monthes i did port nd polish bigger piston and kn filter and i live in ct and its starting to get cold
 
adjust that airscrew as desbribed above, and jump that main at least 2 sizes plug chop and see what happens
 
2 sizes up as in 330 not 290 i have a 290 in garage but 310 in quad now
would all these mods cause it to need more air
 
yes...2 sizes up to a 330 to richen the air/fuel mix
290 is down and leaner.
yes again...the porting will have it breathing better
 
I did. Gonna call him Monday. It's bullshit. He wasn't home when I picked it up so I couldn't talk to him. He races on weekends. Going to get jets 320 330 340 tomorrow. I will leak test and try the 330 first as awk said
