Hi all.

I have a major problem! first i bought the blaster, it appears stock.

And at the preview and testing before buying.. it started and ran perfectly! .. and then i got it home.. it still started and ran perfect... and i must say.. wow i was impressed with the power and pull .. its a strong machine.. even stock.. but now suddenly it wont start.. but sometimes it start .. but i cant throttle at all .. it will die when throttling.. and make a "pfffut" .. (fart?) of the exhaust and stall .. it happend once before and the i left it overnight in a garage.. and it started first time the day after and ran normally... but now the same problem again! ..

Could it be dirt in the tank ? are there a fuel filter? what could be wrong? im am almost certain the cylinder and piston and ignition dosent cause it.. but may carb? fuel problems?

Please help!!

regards
desperate new blaster owner! :(

did you mix the gas right? i sold a 250r to my cousin and it had the same problem about a week later, turns out he used lawnmower oil i the fuel lol

could be tors. if its not removed, do that and get that out of the equation. to anyone else, isnt there something electrical with the parking brake? something like that. lassek, try fiddling with that.

drop a new plug in there too. could have fouled it since its a new bike to you.

Hi againg and thanks for reply...

whats this with the e-brake? can someone please explain that?

to 89custom: What is tors? what do you mean please?

to chancyskiles: I only put 95 unleaded in the gastank.. it mixes oil itself..

I had this problem this winter. Jetting, Tors, Plug and do you turn the gas valve off when your done riding it. It sounds like its flooded.

oh sorry man.

Tors (throttle override system) kills power if it thinks the throttles stuck open. its known to malfunction and it will give you troubles if you dont know how it works and it goes bad. it can cause no spark, really bad spark and off ignition or even some people have said they noticed an improvement in power when they removed it, could have limited there spark power, not sure.

but heres a diy on how to remove it. its really easy, dont worry.

as for the e-brake, im not totaly sure, i got my blaster with it removed so i dont know the whole electrical issue with that, but i recall hearing it was something with that.
check for a connection on the handlebars, im asuming its on the same side as the front brakes, maybe not idk, but look for some kind of lock that holds the rear brake. if it is connected to electrical, fiddle with that and see what happens.

maybe someone else can explain that issue.

aw sh*t i didnt even realize. when i posted that the pictures were there, but that guy tweaked and was banned. im sure hes crusing the forums because when i posted the link for you to use, he removed them.

i dont have my stock tors parts and such so i cant get pics. sorry man. maybe someone else has some. its really not hard, you should be able to do it by the writting.

what years your blaster? they changed the cdi from 02down and 03+, i belive the newer ones have a plug so it isnt just unplug if you dont know which is the cdi and both have plugs.

the plug on that big ass box on top of your carb is easy, just unplug that.

then theres the wire to your throttle.

and then step 4, im not sure where he was talkin about, may be the end of the cable that goes to the thumb throttle. not sure.

Hi again..... incredibly it was only the damn spark plug! .. the reason it was hard to locate the error was because a buddy of mine had a defective spark plug we tested with!!!! bought a brand new one.. BAM! its now racing!

Thanks so much for the help!

Great forum-
