HELP... HELP... TOP END MAKING KNOCKING??

I just got a 97 blaster with a 240 kit and blah...blah...blah just like every other blaster but ne ways I went riding today and every now and then i could hear a clicking or knocking. Almost positive its coming from the top end. Just wodering what this could be? I read somewhere that a 240 kit will make noise but just want to make sure before i rip apart the motor. The motor is brand new only ran 2 gallons of gas through it. (maybe just not broke in yet could be the reason) Also just wondering if there is any thing that needs to be done after the break in period. Thanks

I sounds like the video but it only does it at higher revs and it seems to do it on down revs also

I am running 93 pump gas with 6oz of oil to every gallon for break in and then going to 32:1 sorry about the pm

you should do break in with the same mixture you are planning to run it at.

mine sounds like that to i was wondering if that was normal cuz my friends didnt sound like that.it is only the 240's that sound like that?

Bundyho thats a great example. 2 strokes slap around more than a 4 stroke would from the bearings.

you should do break in with the same mixture you are planning to run it at.

its the gas that cools the motor ...the oil lubes the crank rings and bearings
more oil ratio means there is less gas and less gas means leaner and hotter
and thats the opposite of what you want !
use the same oil and same ratio every time even for inital break in

WOW! Thanks so much that makes so much sense. So the noise in my motor could be something burning up?? Or is it normal. Its doing it only when warmed up which makes sense because of what you told me earlier? What would be my best bet to do now??

mine sounds like the clip too but i dont have the 240 kit should i be woried or is it normal for all blasters to make this sound

Could the squeeking be from air leaking through the base or head?

check your compression I:I
Stock is in the 130s on a fresh rebuild.If its down around 100 need new rings

checked my comp. today and i got all of 120!
