Ok so i am about to finish up my rebuild on my 99 blaster, just got my head back from the machine shop new piston ready to rock, and just did my oil block off kit. Now, the problem is my piston rings, one of the rings sits perfect in the grooves however, one of them does not. It feels like it make be bent or something, will this affect performance? I just paid 60bux for a bore i would hate to put it all together and then scratch the crap out of the walls. Also how hard is it to get the piston+rings back in the jug? Should they be able to compress completely to fit back in? I havent tried to put them in yet because im waiting on a new wristpin bearing. What should i do if they dont completely compress?

the rings should float around in the piston pretty easily. If not the ring might seize in the groove which would be less power or damage. Putting the piston in is easy from the bottom up, since the sleeve is tapered. I can do it by hand with no tool needed. If they dont completely compress you need to check your ring end gap.. Yes they should be flush with the piston all the way around. Refer to this on pg. 87

make sure your ring gaps are aligned with the alignment pins in the grooves of the piston. I wouldn't suggest running a bent ring for several reasons, among them is performance and reliability. The rings should be installed so the small text next to the gap on them is facing upwards. I hope that all helps.
