How many guys run without them?
I bought this with no heel guards and no need bars.
My first thought was to run nerf bars and no heel guards, but I've never owned one of these to know. Seems safety wise to try and find some guards. Whats your thoughts.
Thanks!

You want them. Don't want a leg to get sucked in. You can pick up guards off at raptor 250 for pretty cheap. Needs little modification and looks a ton better!

It will only take once for your leg to get sucked under the tire to realize you want them. Lol

My hip is pretty messed up from getting sucked in last year. Dr appt this week for it. Happened going too fast for terrain and my skill level, bounced off basically. Stock heel guard And shocks.

Not only do you need the metal heel guards you should have the plastic piece that connects from the guard to the rear fender. I don't have the plastic pieces just the heel guards and on Saturday I was hauling ass over some bumpy ground and my foot slid off and and hit the rear tire. It was scary and I thought for sure I was getting sucked under. Moral of the story, get the complete heel guards system. I'm done riding till I do.
