Has anyone ever thought about a turbo?

I know nothing about turbos. All i know is to run good boost you need strong internals. Since we have 2 stroke all we would need is a good piston.

Im probably thinking out of my ass, but is this possible?I:I

but the fuel injection and control of it makes it almost foolproof.
add a craburetor into the mix and jetting for the boost gets hairy.

As shown it's been done. But as you'll notice they are dragg only. I wouldn't want to guess how much this would cost, nor how long an engine would survive. Gotta pay2play

Main thing i guess with a 2stroke is the turbo fighting with the reeds.

I thought about this recently but i dont think it is really a practical idea. First off yes it would be able to spool the turbo if you had a small enough turbo. Second you probably couldnt run more than 5 pounds safely. think about when you do a leak test you compress the motor to only 7 pounds because you risk blowing seals if you do much more. With a turbo you are basically doing the same thing only while the motor is running. It would be doable for a short run time but most likely you would blow seals and have a lot of pressure leaks. Also figuring out an exhaust manifold would be extremely difficult because of the expansion chamber and such not to mention the jetting nightmare that would be especially at partial throttle. It probably is doable though if you have enough money time and skills.

Theres a turbo quad on youtube ... I forgot what kind tho. Didn't seem to make all that much of a difference in acceleration, it sounded pretty sweet tho !
