Gear selector

I was racing last Saturday in the final race I holeshotted and then rung the splines in the gear selector coming out of the first corner lol

Is there anything u guys do to mod the selector to stop this happening I was thinking of drilling A 6mm hole through the gear selector and the shift shaft and putting a nut and bolt on it?

those spline will only strip if the clamp bolt is loose. They do wear over time however. What I did to enable the bolt to clamp the shift lever tighter onto the shaft is to file the gap on the lever a bit bigger. This allows the bolt to clamp tighter making a tighter fit onto the splines.

Drilling a hole thru the shaft will only weaken it. I could list a couple hillbilly fixes, that would get you through untill you can fix it right.

Is the shaft worn, shifter, or both?

Shift shaft is worn in the middle but fine on the out side

grind away the gap so you can pull it tighter with the bolt. I had the same problem as you and once I ground it bigger I haven't had a problem yet and that was 2 years ago.
