Hi all, I dont wanna get into a mess with this question cause i have seen quite a debate over injection pump or not, but recently i have purchased a 2002 blaster for my son and the injector pump is not connected, the owner said he didnt trust it and removed it so my question is does anyone know a good rato for the premix? Thanks in advance, Jamie

First thing is you want to make sure it was removed correctly. It should either have a plate to block off the pump or the gear removed, the line going to the carb removed and a nipple used to bloc it of. If it is done correctly then the best oil ratio is a minimum of 32:1. Good luck!

There you go,^^^ two stickies from the forum. I have read the second but not the first as I just noticed it. I skimmed it and will go back later. Most important thing is to jet for your ratio and stick with it. It's best to stick with same brand of oil also. You should only use oil specified for 2s air cooled motorcycles, next would be any 2s cycle oil (don't believe there is much if any difference).

DO NOT use chainsaw, motorboat, weedwacker, or any other CHEAP oil. I have used good snomo oil before, but prefer bean oil myself.

I think most use 32:1 because it's an easy (read lazy) ratio 16oz. bottle makes 4 gallons.
I run 28:1, Blaaster runs 25:1. Factory Banshee Manual calls for 24:1, and it's a simular sized cyl displacement.

Personally I'll take a few more fouled plugs over less engine wear any day. The tiny bit of added gas/less oil = more hp would be hard to measure on a dyno, let alone a "butt" dyno, jmho.

Any high revving motor under 200 ccs deserves a ratio of 25:1.

I prefer to run the best oil available, Castor oil (Bean oil).

Jetted correctly you will foul no more plugs than you will at running 32:1. I have never in my life fouled a plug, admittedly I change them frequently.

Extra compression, and the peace of mind that the motor will last longer.

Downside is that it is a little dearer and not suitable in extremely cold weather.

I run the factory "Autolube" oil injection on all our blasters and have had ZERO ISSUES...EVER!Everybody has an opinion, but I can tell you that without question there is NO advantage to removing it unless you just want to pre-mix.

If your removing it because of reliability concerns, you would be gaining nothing, and removing it for no reason at all other than believing bullshit "rumors" that you have heard.

The only problem with reliability of the system is the "reliability" of the "operator" keeping the oil tank filled. I've seen too many morons fill they're fuel tank, but not the oil tank. The tank is translucent and you can see if it needs oil from over 500 feet away. Go figure.

I'm curious,, bean oil??? I personally have never heard of that before..but i looked up a few things and that comes up often..i have yet to look into more details about it but what exactly is"bean" oil? Is organic lol.. all serious though What makes it different than regular two stroke oil? I have only used yama lube.. Should i change? I also would rather foul a few plugs than premature engine wear.. shoot i just orderd over a hundred plugs..(got a good deal and 99% of my quads use them)... Bean oil is castor oil?? Wow i learn something new every day.. love this forum..

YIP, made from cstor bean. Just think how GREEN you willbe using a renewable resource8-| :D

I bought my 250 Elsinore brand new, only used Castrol R30 in it, ran it a bazillion hours. The cylinder was less than half of the "service" limit for out of round/taper. Never measured the piston as I discovered a crack in it.
Castrol doesn't sell it in US anymore so I use Benol (Klotz?) . Hey everybody buys pipes cause they sound good, I buy bean oil cause it smells great I:I, plus my "wear study" was approved. I must add a disclaimer in that the old Elsi was a true oil burner, 20:1 factory recomended ratio. Fogged many a mosquito with it.
