MY TOWN, PA
Alright, throwing this out to you guys, help me out here.
Was doing some work on the bike over the weekend, between ALL the kick a$$ riding time I got in, good times. Now, I had my kickstarter off along with some other things doing some cleaning, painting, etc.

As I mounted the kickstart back on it sucks, has play and flips out while riding, with every bump and vibration, etc. It kicks fine, no issues, just does not hold and stay in like it used to. The interface is a simple beast with one little rubber oring thing and a set screw, what could have gone wrong? Once removed does this oring need to be replaced? Was there a small spring or something I am overlooking that may have sprung off while removing, etc?

Just confused, and irritated as everything was fine, it never came out on its own before remove/replace. If I did not spend 2 hours on this so far I would not be posting this stupid a$$ thread but it is ridiculous and I have now lost my patience, just seeing if anyone has any feedback to give me back my sanity here??? :-/

Thx, in advance...

Your not alone here lol Ive seen a few people with the kicker wont stay in place. Mine is nice and tight but I dont know if they had a fix for it or they just replaced the kicker with a new one.

You need to stretch the spring inside the stub shaft. There is also bearing in there that sets into a dimple on the kick pedal. You need more pressure on the ball to keep it in the dimple to stay put.

pretty much you need a new kicker you wore down the return pm me i have a few

Please emphasize here. The return? There are not many parts to the kickstarter. Like I said before i removed it, the kicker was perfect. Now it is flimsy and falls out to the side, with little vibration, etc. Just does not make sense, even after installing a new oring, etc.

Can you shed more light on your point here?

And, thx for the feedback.
Thx to all you guys, so far...

So, stretching the spring will add this needed pressure against the bearing?

did u check to see if the bearing is in there

No, not yet.
This thread has now shed some new light on this, as I was not in the best of moods while checking this out and for sure did not investigate it thoroughly, as the day was ending quickly last night. Figured I Would just throw it out there today to see if I could get some pointers, have plenty of data to now investigate further tonight, when home, in the garage.

And Freek, by the way that it feels so sloppy, I am gonna say no, now that I know about a bearing, would say it is not there, which makes more sense to the way it feels now, like it does not <catch> anymore and lock in..

Thx guys... I:I

i took mine off and now it flops around, i put a pice of wire on it to hold it in for now

it is the spring/bearing combo around the mount shaft that becomes compromised once the kickstart is removed. Those 2 small parts will need to be replaced, mine is on the way...
