so im getting a job soon and im thinking about just building my blaster so its a beast, i want it as fast nd powerful as it can be without being a drag blaster, i ride trails and sand dunes. i was thinking a vitos 240 kit with a aggressive trail port, stroker but what size?, full trinity exhaust, 35 mm carb? head mod? v-force 4 reeds, cfm airbox. so what else would i want to do to it performance wise to make it a full on beast of a blaster, i wanna run on pump gas still though 92 octane, what size stroker, and i would have to trench the cases and what exactly does trenching them do? how would it compare to a stock banshee after all this? again i would get a banshee but there just to long to be trail quads, there at home in the sand. i also am just thinking about doing this and yes it would be a lot of money im guessing...

be sure you stick with your original plan, it'll have plenty of power for what you want to ride in...sand, AND TRAILS.
choose your builder wisely, and don't get fooled into some light switch powerband, all top end or nothing, unrideable in trails, unreliable experiment.

Take the budget you have in mind and add 50% at least.

Trenching is needed to allow the big end bearing to rotate inside the crankcase while using a +4 hot rods stroker crank. It is NOT necessary to use the +4 stroker crank to make big power.... the +3 vito's can also make some huge power and does not require removing more material from the case mating surfaces than it left after the machining....

Think of HUGE power goals as being a trade-off of sorts. The higher the peak HP, the shorter period of time it can put that power out, no matter who builds the engine.

If you want good all around power you will be sacrificing peak horsepower. If you want really high peak horsepower, you will be sacrificing some bottom end. Drag motors don't do good going slow and trail motors don't do good at the track.

hmm, well yeah i would just choose to go to ken and no that its been done by a great builder and knows what hes doing, so has anyone on here ported a vitos 240 before?

of course, lots of people have ported vito's 240's, in their shops, garages, basements, kitchens and sheds..........

KOR? and awk by my original plan you mean what i wrote in my OP?

Just to be clear, Awk is knocking me specifically about comments in the chat made by someone who I built an engine for who complained that it had TOO MUCH POWER.

Also, to be clear this person specifically asked for a screamer engine (his words not mine) to match his pipe and carb and got exactly what he asked for.

Believe it or not, I did exactly as was requested and made a SCREAMER engine. It was actually said that it would be better served with a wheelie bar and being fed alcohol!

Now it's being pointed out that I couldn't defy physics (or the request of the person I did the work for) and make it put out AWESOME top end power and lug around like a tractor.... 8-|

Good job Awk, you managed to point that I did exactly as I was asked and that I do not actually have a magic wand (go figure, no one does!) and somehow make that sound like a bad thing.....

so i looked at the KOR vitos 240 kit but it only comes race port unfortunately, so you think a 35mm carb, ported 240 kit and +3 crank would be a screamer??

Be careful with that screamer talk. That's suggesting that you want a top end powerful engine and you will be sacrificing some of your bottom end by doing that.
