hi, i am new to the forum, and have researched this alot. but havent really got the answer i am looking for.

i have a 98 blaster, it has some work done to it, not much but a little. it has reed spacer, aftermarket filter (which needs replaced) and is bored over 2 sizes. i am looking at taking it to a local place to have the jug ported minorly and a head mod done to run 93. the guy told me he is only going to work on the exhaust port, i dont know exactly what but that is it.

i am also trying to get ahold of flotek, cause they are on the other side of the state from me (pennsylvania). i dont know exactly what to get done, but the videos he has of the aggresive trail port looks like exactly what i want.

after researching this for a few hours now, i have come down to these two systems. the fmf fatty with power core II or the toomey b1 setup. what i do is trail riding, but it goes from open farm fields to tight woods, hill climbs, mud, so i would like the pipe and porting to match this.

i couldnt find a definative answer to my question, which pipe would be better to grow into? all i can find is that the toomey is a more peaky pipe and the fmf is more down low, so i am leaning more towards the toomey.

what i am looking at down the road is v force reeds, slightly bigger carb like a 28 or 30, and to have a good port job done, NO BIG BORE IN MY FUTURE.

please any help would be greatly appreciated on this matter. thanks so much, and this forum is GREAT!

I would say toomey is the way to go. it is a good pipe. I had one and loved the way it ran with a very mildly ported motor. Kenoconnorracing.com is a great place to get work done. that toomey will keep up with the mild mods you are talkin about. if you ever decide to stroke it or bbk it you can sell the toomey. they sell real fast in the 250 range used.

f7/powerpros/trinity/ct pipe is awesome

the FMF can be had dirt cheap though and its a really good pipe.

^^^ yep and il add that fmf is a great trail pipe it has killer low end power mids good to up top its not as good but better than stock

agreed if you are gonna have flotek do ur blaster this is his recommended exhaust. and as far as im concerned you cant beat the overall performance of an f7. those four are all the same pipe btw

you don't think that pipe is too much for the mod's he's doin brando?

its what's on mine with 0 porting and i love it, gives up a little off idle to the FMF but has more in the mid and plenty up top where the FMF died.

but any way around it, the FMF or Toomey would be great, and are easier to find used than the f7/power pros/trinity/ct pipe.

Oh i thought you were ported brando. my bad. but like i said the toomey was an awesome pipe but as you can see i sold it and i am going to the f7 pipe myself

the f7 will be a great mod to any bike... they are much better for more modded quads and can handle anything you can throw at them... i got my f7 in about 1 month from their website. if you arent planning to much then a toomey or fmf will get the job done

it took a month to get the f7? wow

yeah i think i m going to be disapointed with the fmf pipe...... like i said i m just going to get a decent port job, and v force reeds, bigger carb, and run it on 93 or so. nothing crazy i want a quad i can go have fun with all weekend long and not worry about reliablity. i d like to be in the 30's for hp. that will be good enough for me. i really like the way way the toomey pipe comes with everything, i could use the new filter.

i ll look into the f7, i guess i need to talk to flotek, and see what is recommended, does anyone have phone #, i have emailed twice and no response........ thanks

yeah, the FMF is not a bad pipe at all like i said, but i like my f7 a bit better. i may be getting another fmf setup to A/B compare though

yeah when i emailed him at the start of my build it was a week or two before i heard from him... he will message you back though... or you could message oconner racing. they are in Connecticut not that far from you either if ur in east pa

oh wow the f7 looks really nice....... and this is what flotek reccomends?

ok dumb question....where should i start with jets? pilot and main?

like said right now just aftermarket filter and and reed spacer, bored over 2 sizes...... nothing else
