i just got a new toomey b1 exhaust and i have to reuse the gasket for the flange but i dont have a gasket and was just wondering if i was to silicone it would it be fine?

tHATS WHAT i USED i DIDNT EVAN HAVE ONE FOR MY STOCK PIPE LOL i BOUGHT MY BLASTER DISASSEMBLED AND DIDNT RELIZE THERE WAS EVAN A GASKET FOR THE PIPE.. bUT IT DIDNT REALLY LEAK WITH OUT IT.. bUT I JUST bought a fmf fatty and decided to use silicone so I wouldnt have to go buy a gasket .. at least any time soon
If I were you I would go to your local atv shop if you have one, and order a gasket just like I did. They don't cost very much I dont think
get some 1" or 3/4" radiator hose from autozone, bring in your pipe to fit it right, then to hold them togather use 2 hose clamps... done deal
Ii think hes talking about the little flange that bolts to the exhaust port.
I bought a brand new gasket from yamaha when i did my 240 for 9 bux but my pipe still leaks so i suggest yu use high temp rtv on it.

its not a normal gasket, its more of a doughnut made of rubber with metal around it.

if your exhaust port is pretty dirty you might not even be able to tell if theres a gasket in there
its not metal, it is what goes between the cylinder and the exhaust flange that bolts on there. It is rubber, i know where to get one i am just wondering if silicone would work or do i have to get the gasket?
i think your best bet would be to use a gasket with the high temp sealer and that should alleviate all your problems
