Engine runs but no power off idle...

I'm new to the forum and have a new guy question. I'm looking at buying a Blaster that has a problem. It starts and runs but will not run off-idle. The seller says it's a bad CDI box. My dad thinks maybe the TORS system or a broken reed. Whaddaya think?

Whatever it is you can definately rule out the TORS system, only because you said the bike starts.
The TORS cuts off the bike if the throttle should ever stick open.

But def. check the CDI and reeds.

not necessarily grimm. i have an '06 and when i eliminated my tors, the bike would start and idle, but would cut off if throttled.
quadkid, try jumpin the wire comin outta your throttle assy. that might fix it.
