Ok before I start im sorry if this in the wrong section I couldn't find an electrical section because I dont believe there is one lol.

Anyways I am trying to help out my friend on getting his blaster running. We just put new seals all through the bottom end and rebuilt the topend its bored .020 over now. As soon as we put the motor back in the frame and start it it won't rev. It starts going ping ping ping when you try to give it throttle and not revving like it should it sounded like the TORS so I took it off and it still does it. Then I checked the reed cage and the reeds are good. So I checked spark and and it was a real weak white spark. So I unplugged the safety switch that goes to the front brake and it seemed to give it a thick blue spark but now it wont start. I tried wiring the two wires on the safety switch together to give it continuity and it still wont start. It tries to once and then it just dies. So I figured the crankcase was flooded with gas so I put some oil down in the cylinder and turn the motor over with the sparkplug out to clear the cylinder a little and put the plug back in to see if it will start but still nothing. I have also put a new sparkplug in it. I even cut the ends off the wires coming from the stator and wired them up straight and it still wont start. I have checked the ignition coil and all the wires coming from the stator and the sparkplug cap. They all have continuity and are in spec. The only thing I didn't check is the cdi which I dont believe you can check. If the cdi is out it wouldn't have a spark at all would it?

Sorry for the long post but I am trying to explain everything I have checked. If you have any other ideas on what to check please let me know. I have even tried different sparkplug caps and a different ignition coil.

I forgot to mention this is on a 2003 blaster and I also took the key switch off and wired those two wires together to make sure it wasn't the keyswitch but still nothing.

well if theres gas in the crank case its the crank seals yur supposed to put em in with grese if u replaced them, other wise check jetting and check the electrical box under the seat and se if its tight but most likely crank seals does it have really white smoke

if i'm not mistaken, aren't you supposed to leave the 2 keyswitch wires apart when you remove it???

looked at the diagram and on blasters the key and kill switches both just ground out the coil wire to kill the spark and shut the bike down, circled in red, 12 is the kill and 11 is the ketswitch

Its not the crank seals, its not white smoke. It has blue smoke like normal. The seals had grease on them.

Im pretty sure we still had spark when we wired those two wires together. If it was suppose to ground them wouldn't it have killed the spark? Im not telling you that you are wrong im just asking lol because im not big on electrical stuff. I hate messing with electrical stuff. We have the keyswitched hooked back up now the right way we just unplugged it that one time to check it.

What do you mean by electrical box underneath the seat? Are you talking about the coil? I checked it and the stator. I also forgot to say that I pulled the carburetor and cleaned it real good before we even started messing with the electrical stuff. I am pretty sure its something electrical because even with the jetting it should be at least trying to start or even start and not run good.
