Is there a way to get e-mail notifications when responses on threads or pm`s comeÉ i have looked but i can`t find anything if there is
e-mail notifications?

you go to the user CP and hit the edit options button under settings & options, then you scroll down to receive e mail and click the bottom box if you want a e mail when you get a friend request, then you scroll down to the private messaging section and go down to the 3rd box and click it , then go all the way to the bottom and click save changes,......... cough cough rep?????
