ok got some philips headphones at the begining of the summer. 3 months later and only one side works and both speakers are cominbg out of the sockets or whatever. and there is a plastic covering over the spearkers both fell off the day i got them. only used them a handfull of times and they are falling apart!! just putting it out there. i would get skullcandy or ipod headphones or sony ones.

Skullcandys are garbage. Phillips are too. Seinheisers are prolly the best overall pair of cheap headphones you can buy (you can get expensive ones too, but just their 30-50 range of in ear buds are great.)

I have a set of Bose in ears I LOVE.

the sony ones that fit in your ear and are metal looking are great. i listen to my ipod all day while mowing at work. they have gotten all covered in sweat and dropped and hit with grass . nothing kills em but time. gotten 4 years out of my current pair. but if you snowboard dont expect to yank the cord from your jacket zipper without losing sound in one side or the other

Skullcandys are NOT the best. If you think theyre the best you havent listened to many other good headphones, OR you like your music really flat and bassy. They dont have very good highs, their mids are washed out, but they do have good bass response.

Im an audiophile. I am a lot more opinionated about things like this than the average person. Ive noticed, the average person "loves their skullcandies". But there are better buds out there for less money IMO.

I guess the bottom line is sound is all up to the eye of (or ear in this case) of the beholder.
