DMC pipe question

Im ordering a DMC Allen pipe .Can I use the stock Yamaha exhaust flange and springs ?

Cant find pics.. ? Someone said it bolts to the exhaust flange !

No you can not. If you are ordering the pipe it will come with the flange.

Thanks , I have a FMF Fatty complete system , there is a bog in 1st gear just off idle. Does the DMC pipe have that too? I am also concerned that everyone says its load as hell ! Willl the FMF power core quiet it down or ruin the DMC powerband?

The DMC does produce a fair amount of noise but not excessive.

It uses no springs and will bolt up directly to the cylinder with a leak free seal.

DMC needs the needle clip on the richest setting or else it will bog!

The Power core should not effect the powerband if you jet it correctly.

For an engine to bog just off idle tells me that either the idle is set wrong, needle set too lean, or you have the wrong pilot jet, which should be #32.5.

32.5 jet and idle ok .. I will try to change the needle clip and see if that helps.

If your air screw isn't set right you will get a bog too. Put your air screw at 1.5 turns out from a lightly seated position. Warm the bike up to operating temp. Raise the idle a little bit. Then set the air screw at a half a turn out. It will idle down some. Turn the air screw out a half a turn at a time until you get at highest idle. Will take a couple seconds for the motor to react to the a/f mixture change.

Finally found the problem , the person who disconnected the oil pump line from the carb had some kind of crap sealing the hole. It looked like it was ok but when I sprayed carb cleaner on it the motor almost died.

Im going to use this carb as a fishing weight ! X( The idle mixture hole threads were stripped ,the idle mixture screw was scarred up, one of the screws that holds the cable to the slide was rounded off, and the oil injection hole that did not leak last week ,did this week !
I really do not like Mikuni carbs Ive had a lot better luck with Kiehins
Im thinking of getting a 30 mm Kiehin.
