You cant take the old brake cable off, yet your skilled enought to put on a wet brake system?

Seems like youll have to take the cable off either way.

are those ports chamfered? they look awful sharp in the pictures. if they aren't chamfered the rings will catch and cause huge problems. and I don't see a crosshatch pattern on the cylinder walls either. these pics were taken after the bore job? maybe it's just bad pics but it looks pretty clear to me. a lot of guys treat a 2 stroke cylinder like a 4 stroke but you can't they are completely different animals

lool im just happy to have the cylinder back right now lol

I'm not tryin to be a jerk or anything. I know you were already pissed off by that other dude's coment. i just wanted you to know that if that cylinder had already been bored and you think it is ready to go it might not be. I just want you to get as much life as possible out of your new piston.

im not mad at u lol im not sure if it was bored out when we got it... it could be possible but there were no crosshatchings to start off with and it ran without any problems... well u no what i mean lol

oh that was the origional pic before the bore job. i thought those were the afters. sorry. glad i could help and thanks for the rep

it does look like the cylinder missed the honing stage of the job. i would make sure there is cross hatches in the wall, at it doesn't matter what stroke the engine is, all engines need the cross hatches for proper ring seating.

yeah that's what i was getting at. and if the edges of those ports feel sharp to your finger they will feel sharp to the piston and rings too.
i would give the guy the opportunity to fix his work. if he doesn't honor his work you know to never go there again. next time send it to ken oconnor he has great prices and will fix you right up. it is worth the shipping for the peace of mind
