Ok I have a 95 blaster that is stock and last fall it would not start. Over the last few evenings I determined it did not have spark. I downloaded the service manual and dug in the troubleshooting flow chart. After testing every switch, coil and circuit they all tested good so I cleaned all the connections and thru new plug in and behold I had spark. Still no start so I started down the fuel road. The filter was nasty so I cleaned and reoiled it and took the carb off and cleaned it. The carb was suprisingly clean for the abuse the kids put this machine thru but I took apart the jets and soaked them anyways. While carb was off I inspected reeds and they appeared to be intact and stll good. I reassembled it and she fired off first kick. after warming up she idled good and sounded strong thruout the throttle. Went for test run down the street and she is good till the top 1/3 of the throttle then it seems like it is cutting out. What can this be CDI, Coil?? What am I missing??

I didnt bother to record any of the sizes when I had it apart. It ran beautiful all last summer until no spark and we have not changed anything on it. I took it all apart and put back together just as it was. Maybe I misadjusted the mixture screws. I will tinker tonight. It feels more like I am hitting a rev limiter and losing spark than running too rich but I have been wrong before. The thing that is weird is in neutral I can rev it with no problem but in gear and going it starts out ok than feels like my sled when you lose a cylinder(I know there is only one on a blaster)

i have uni oil kit with aeresol oil. i coated it enough to change color and then let sit 15 min like the instructions say.

How old is the gas in the tank.. If it has been sitting for a while the gas can break down and not run very good. If it has old gas in it you may try putting some good fresh fuel in it.

If it sounds like it's missing I'd check all the wire connections, make sure their clean and tight. Also check the plug boot, make sure it's tight.
