Cracked plastic

The front fender on my bayou has a huge crack in it and its held together with wire right now. Yeah nice I know lol... So what I was thinking about doing was putting some fiberglass on both sides of it and then sandin it smooth and repainting all my plastic. Yall think this will work or got any better ideas? Thanks

if you have a Burnz-o-Matic torch you can melt the plactic on both sides, then take a popsicle stick or any tool that is flat and try to smooth out the melted plastic...then VERY LIGHTLY sand the area and paint over it...i had to do it to my fenders and it worked for me...good luck
