whats up iv seen a hand full of people doing it i thought that its not smart to use a different pipe

Couple things X-man. Biggest is that O.P. of the pipe thread never updated his "experiment" even though he was on a month ago.
I suggest you P.M. him for results. I bet a buck it didn't work very well, which is why no results posted. The wrong pipe is likely worse than a stock pipe !!

I have a great idea X-man , get a pipe, mod it to fit and give us an azz dyno report.
What do you have against using a YZ pipe?

Little experiment I stumbled upon, used a Vito's super stock piston in a flipper Blaster. FYI, the piston has a exhaust cutaway, similar to.raising the exhaust.
Used stock exhaust. It had fantastic bottom end :D !! But just as the revs got to the point of really putting a two stroke smile on your, it would fall flat on its face, just stopped pulling , wouldn't rev higher no matter what.
Which is exactly how Yamaha would have designed the pipe. To keep inexperienced riders from over revving in a to low of gear.

I have actually thought of modifying a stock exhaust. Cut it open, remove the baffle, and sound deadening material, replace the "neck down" between front and rear cones, and maybe even shorten it a bit.
But time is money.
Plus my little wire welder isn't the best :( , but it was free !!:p

Nothing wrong with asking questions. Best answer I can give is research ;), start with Gorden Jennings, Two stroke tuners handbook.
When you (or anyone) can explain the degrees of difference between a MX pipe and road race/drag pipe , then we'll be on to something  !!
