I just bought a 2000 blaster and I noticed it idles fine in neutral but if you have it in gear with the clutch in it try's to die sometimes. It sounds like a clutch adjustment issue. Like maybe it's trying to grab even with the clutch in. I'm a newbie to quad's though and figured you guys might be able to point me in the right direction. I havn't bought a service manual yet.

well if you have enough threads left on the lever where the cable go's into the lever, try to thread that thing out a bit, so it pulls on the cable more and opens the clutch further, hope this helps, let me know if it doesn't

I describe a bit about internal adjustment. If you have to go that far, you will want to go ahead and take a look at the clutch while you are in there and determine weather it needs replacing or not.

There are marks on the arm and the case to properly align the clutch but while you have the cover off inspect the basket for teeth marks and how much life is left in the clutch pack.

Maunals are $29.00

oh but if it doesnt work after you replace it i think you may have a serious problem so more work on the clutch might be nessesary...

i also beleive that it may be ur jetting..
ur pilot may be correct but if it dies out or bogs when you give it gas with or without the clutch i think possibly ur jetted too high and ur flooding some how, i dont know alot about carbs but that could be the problem aswell

I just adjusted it out as far as it will go and now whenever you put it in gear it try's to jump like the clutch isnt working at all and dies. I'm pretty sure its not the jetting because it runs fine in neutral. So I'm guessing now I should move onto looking at the internal adjustment and checking the clutch?

I replaced my tranny oil and it seems to be fine now. When I drained the fluid it had some metal in it though. So I'm still going to have to open it up soon and see whats going on.
