I am about to put in a new clutch in my blaster. This is the first time i have tried to put in a clutch and I am not a mechanic. I have basic engine knowledge and have done a few top end rebuilds but never any bottom end work. So does anybody have any tips for me or any very important facts I should know before I attempt to fix it? Any help from you guys out there that do things like this all the time would really help. Thanks.

Make sure you remove the clutch bolts in "stages" in other words, don't completely remove on bolt and then start taking another out and completely remove it and then move onto the next. Loosen all the bolts, turn them all out a handful of turns and then go back and take them all out another handful of turns and so on until they're all loose.

Watch out for the errant ball bearing! It'll just roll out of the middle of the input shaft after you take the pressure plate off.

Reinstall the pressure plate with the dot aligned with the inner clutch hub. If you don't, it won't tighten down properly.

There is one longer bolt on the clutch cover (the rest are the same). That longer bolt goes through the alignment dowel on the very front of the motor.

It can easily and reliably be changed with the engine in the frame. You will need to unbolt the right heel guard and foot peg to be able to remove the clutch cover but that's a relatively minor detail.

cool thanks for all the info, i'm sure i will need it lol. i think i will be able to get it in with those tips you told me though.

^^^^^ very good write-up and very helpful for your situation. You won't need the first half about installing the billet basket but the last half of the pics will help immensely!
